Geographic Information System

W. M. Beaty & Associates, Inc. (WBA) has long known the benefits of using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in forest management applications.  We first began using GIS in the early 1980’s for timberland stratification and sample plot allocation.  As GIS moved to the desktop WBA began incorporating this technology to help manage our client's lands. It was recognized early at WBA that the integration of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology was essential in collecting and maintaining accurate geographic data.  To develop GIS solutions to solve our client's needs WBA uses the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI ) GIS software products and Trimble Navigation GPS receivers and software among others.
