Wildlife & Aquatic Habitat Management

Managing wildlife, aquatic and botanical resources are vital to sustainable forestry. We work with our clients and regulatory agencies to design and permit forest and species management plans as part of a THP, NTMP, WFMP, SYP or MSAA. Our team holds certificates, Scientific Collection Permits (SCP) and Incidental Take Permits (ITP) in both California and Oregon to implement these plans using a wide variety of wildlife, aquatic and botanical surveys for rare, threatened or endangered species.

Habitat Restoration

When habitat restoration is part our clients’ goals, our experienced team of resource professionals evaluates existing habitat conditions and develop plans to restore and improve wildlife, aquatic or botanical habitats.  We conduct site-specific habitat evaluations and work closely with regulatory agencies to develop a restoration plan, obtaining all the necessary permits to achieve the clients’ goals and successfully complete the habitat restoration.

Environmental Permitting & Assessment

With our experienced team of resource professionals, we develop creative approaches for our clients, using state-of-the-art monitoring techniques like Northern spotted owl color-marked banding and camera-based mesocarnivore monitoring, to address complex forest-wildlife interactions.  These studies and peer-reviewed manuscripts have been used to both navigate through ESA and CESA compliance and develop innovative forest management policies as part of Northern Spotted Owl Resources Plans (NSORP), Conservation Easements and Candidate Conservation Agreements with Assurances (CCAA).
